Manufacturing CoachPosition SummaryThe high school internship/co-op position is responsible for learning alongside experienced manufacturing associates utilizing CNC machines, manual machines, or other related equipment.
The position supports a lean and a safe manufacturing environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality, and support of teamwork throughout KSPT.
Essential Job Functions Assess machine operations; movement of parts, gauges, dials, machine sounds to determine potential equipment failures.
Troubleshoot equipment, modify programming parameters to resolve set up problems.
Interpret drawings, and/or item attributes and follow routings.
Perform in-process inspections at first tool produced and periodically through the job run as required.
Maintain product specifications by utilizing the appropriate inspection equipment as required.
Maintain and adjust machine feeds and speeds and perform routine maintenance and lubrication as required.
Have knowledge of specifications and proper use of perishable tooling and ability to change tooling as required.
Able to use machine-specific software programs as required.
Troubleshoot and correct set up problems and have full knowledge of all tooling required.
Complete all job-related paperwork and shop floor data collection accurately.
Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System.
Adhere to safe operating procedures as required by specific standards related to equipment.
Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions Flexible and continually maintain attention to detail.
Evaluate and maintain measuring and testing equipment.
Have excellent team working and communication skills.
Maintain a clean work area including machine operation cleanliness.
Assist other departments to troubleshoot equipment and/or process issues for continuous improvement.
Train and assist associates on set up and operating functions as needed.
Maintain tooling and manufacturing supplies as needed.
Meet all training and educational requirements as specified by department, work cell and/or location.

Educational Requirements High school attendance in process.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Other Qualifications DesiredTraining & Experience CNC and/or previous tool grinding knowledge preferred.
Working knowledge of decimal and metric system, basic mathematical application.
Working knowledge of micrometer, precision scale, indicator, and other required test/inspection equipment.
License Required:
N/AVisual Acuity:
Ability to read machine dials, computer screens, tool drawings and precision measuring devices with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to visually detect small chips, cracks, voids and similar defects in finished product under varying magnification with or without accommodation.
Hearing Ability:
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify changes in order to take appropriate preventive action with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions:
Well lit, climate controlled manufacturing environment with moderate-loud noise levels.
Position subject to occasional lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending.
Constant use of upper extremities with frequent gripping motions and wrist deviations.
Occasional reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required.
Position frequently handles sharp cutting tools.
Minimal skin exposure to detergents, oils and cutting/grinding fluids and minimal exposure to fumes, dusts, mists.
Additional Comments Associate is required to follow other job-related duties, subject to all local, state, and federal laws and applicable regulations.
The associate must successfully perform all requirements of the position training plan.
The selected candidate must meet all hiring selection requirements including comprehensive testing, background screening, pre-employment drug screen and physical.
When overtime is scheduled, it is mandatory.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
